This is the hotel we stayed at in Turkheim. The one on the left. The hotel in front is the town hall. Well, it was an art gallery while we were there but that's the Alsace for you. They can't even make up their mind which country they belong to so why would a little thing like local government make much difference. . . The hotel was called the Three Keys and was full of enormous dogs, very tall staff and very low ceilings. Some of it was built before Daddy was born - in the 14th century I think - and our room was known as Jimmy Stewart's favourite suite. I think they meant the actor. De Gaulle reckoned it was alright too, and he was a pretty enormous chien himself. . . John settled us in and then asked if we would be ok if he drove himself and his teeth back to Paris and some relief. We looked around the beautiful town and told him he'd been a brick so far and we would be very happy here for a few days until we went on to Basel. . . Posted by Hello
