Here's the leather workers' hall (I think). It was all covered in wood and painted wooden sculptures of funny animals and dated from sometime in the 13th century, when Colmar was a powerful place much favoured by a big cheese called Charlemagne. Colmar is also the town where the children's illustrator Hansi flourished. We liked his stuff a lot, particularly the ones with pictures of storks . . .
