The next day we headed off to Basel (or Basle if you prefer) in Switzerland which is just across the border from the Haut-Rhein. We went on another train, which wasn't as educational or amusing or easy as travelling with Uncle John but pretty painless really. As you can see we arrived in good spirits and found ourselves staying in the rather splendid Radisson hotel. The beds were yummy - especially my special little cot bed - the staff were clean, polite, friendly and intelligent and the caf even better.They let me clean them out of coffee creamer (in those perfect little individual serve pots) and let me run all over the shop . . .
