There was a nice show while we were waiting there though. The Swiss were opening a new bridge that afternoon just opposite - two decks, lots of lanes and megatonnes of massively ugly concrete used in a particularly practical style - so a Rhein firetruck came steaming up the river and did some show-off stuff with hoses and its side-facing propellers as the river raced past . . .
